Lord Hanuman is called as the “Chiranjeevi” (the Immortal).In India, Lord Hanuman is revered by one and all.One can see huge crowds thronging the Hanuman temples across the country on Saturdays.This is to appease Hanumanji and propitiate the Sani Bhagwan, who as per legend, runs scared of Hanumanji.
It is said that whenever you recite the hymn – Sriram jayaram jaya jaya ram, Lord Hanuman will be quick to come to the aid of the person chanting it.The devotion of Lord Hanuman to Lord Ram and Seeta Maiyya is of course legendary.Children dote on the intrepid Hanuman who attempted to swallow the Sun thinking it was a fruit.Many people wear Hanuman taweez (a kind of metal object) to ward off evil.Why do we pray to Hanumanji ? We pray to him for giving us physical and mental strength,to ward off the negative/evil influences from our lives,to obliterate our timidity/cowardice and to sharpen our intellect.When we pray to Lord Hanuman with a pure heart and an unshakeable faith, he is sure to come to our rescue.Hanumanji is known to have stormed the Ashok van in Lanka (where Seeta Maiyya was held captive by Ravan).The Ashok van was a place with such a high security that even air could not enter.That is why – we say that Hanumanji is the one who can make the “asathya” (impossible) into “sathya” (that which is possible).
The devotion of Lord Hanuman to Sri ram is unparalleled .After Lord Ram succeeded in the battle against Ravan, on return to Ayodhya, the Lord bestowed gifts to everyone to celebrate the victory.However, he offered himself as a gift to Hanumanji. Lord Rama told Hanuman, "Whatever you have done for me is simply immeasurable. I will be forever indebted to you. I bless that you gain immortality and be a "chiranjeev". People who bow before me will also have to bow before you, Hanuman.Wherever the glory of Rama is being spoken about, in all those places, the glory of Hanuman will also be spoken about.
It is often believed that Lord Hanuman can convert the “asathya” (impossible) to “sathya”(possible).That is very aptly conveyed in the following shloka :
Sarva kalyana thadharam Sarvabath Ganamarudham
Abhara karunamurthim Anjaneyam namayaham
Asathya sadagam swamin Asathyam dava kimvada
Ramadhoota krupasindho Mathkaryam sadaya prabho.
Hanuman chalisa is best recited in the mornings and evenings.While reciting the same, it is better to maintain personal hygiene.In the mornings, the hymn can be recited just after taking a bath. In the evenings, one can wash the hands and legs and face and then sit down for reciting the chalisa. It just takes less than 10 minutes to recite this hymn. Many children and adults can recite the Hanuman Chalisa by heart.Isn’t that great?
According to Wikipedia, Tulsi Das went to meet the then Emperor Aurangzeb in Delhi after having had a vision of God Sri Rama in Gokula, the birth place of God Sri Krishna. The Emperor challenged Tulsi Das to show Sri Rama to him. When Tulsi Das replied that it is not possible without true devotion to Rama, he was imprisoned by Aurangzeb. In the prison, Tulsi Das is supposed to have written the beautiful verses of the Hanuman Chalisa.
When he completed the Hanuman Chalisa in prison, it is said that an army of monkeys menaced the city of Delhi. The king unsuccessfully tried to control the monkeys with his forces. Finally, the Emperor is supposed to have realized that the monkey menace was a manifestation of the wrath of Hanuman, the Monkey God. He released Tulsi Das and urged him to intervene in this grave matter and it is said that the monkeys stopped their mischiefs immediately after Tulsi's release.
Tulsi Das says in the Chalisa that whoever chants it full devotion to Hanuman, will have Hanuman's grace. Amongst the Hindus of Northern India, it is a very popular belief that chanting the Hanuman Chalisa invokes Hanuman's divine intervention in grave problems, including those concerning evil spirits and this belief is based on the claim made in the Chalisa itself.
Remember how Hanumanji helped Lord Rama to overcome all obstacles and win over Ravana ? In a likewise manner, it is believed that Lord Hanuman comes to the rescue of those who pray to him sincerely with like-minded devotion.
So, friends, believe in the miraculous powers of Lord Hanuman, have complete faith in him and experience the change within ! Do not forget ! Continue to chant the Hanuman Chalisa without fail.

Importance of "chendoor " Tilak
All devotees of Hanuman will be offered the "chendoor" (orange coloured vermilion) in every Hanuman temple.Once Sita Maiyya was placing a "chendoor" Tilak on her forehead. When Hanuman asked her the reason, she informed him that she was using the chendoor so that her husband Sri Ram would be blessed with good health and have a long life. So enamoured was Hanuman after hearing this that he smeared his entired body with "chendoor" so that Lord Ram would be blessed with immortality. Such was his devotion. Till today, in all the Hanuman temples across the country, once the idol is bathed and abhishekams are over, the priests smear the idol with a mixture of "chendoor powder" and oil. Devotees place the chendoor on their forehead to be blessed with Lord Hanuman’s grace.
Hanuman’s tail is very strong and extremely powerful. Hence, placing a Tilak on the tail (with a mixture of sandalwood paste and vermilion) (chandan + kumkum) is supposed to bring immense benefits to those who do it with faith.
Hanumanji is fond of butter and betel leaves. There is a lore behind this.
When Lord Hanuman assured Sita Maiyya that Lord Sri ram would free her from the bondage of the evil Ravan, Sita Maiyya was so pleased that she plucked a betel leaf from the tree, put it on Hanuman’s forehead and blessed him with immortality.All those who seek success in life and wish to be free from fear pray to Hanumanji and appease him with a betel leaf garland.
Butter generally gives coolness to the body.The legend has it that after fighting the demons of Lanka in the war, Hanumanji’s body needed some cooling.So, his body is smeared with butter even today. As butter melts, Hanumanji is also pleased.We can also interpret that by offering butter to Lord Hanuman, all our problems will slip away just like anything that is put on butter slips.

My grandmother gave me Hanuman Chalisa when I am 11 years old and explained the meaning of Hanuman Dwadasa Namavali and also the power of Hanuman Chalisa. Then onwards, I started reading Hanuman Chalisa and Lord Hanuman became my father, mother and my well wisher. Now, I am aged 52. Even till today, I read Hanuman Chalisa with great devotion. But one should remember - for whatever we pray the God, first of all, we shall discharge our duty on our part to our utmost ability and leave the rest on him. Because God helps only who help themselves. Certain problems, however we pray cannot be mitigated even by the GOD if we ought to endure them according to our Karma. But in such cases also, Lord Hanuman is always there to reduce the trouble to the minimum possible, if not removing altogether. Lord Hanuman is the combination of three Gods: Brahma, Vishnu, Maheswara - the reason is: He was declared as Bhavishyad Brahma in this Kaliyuga by Lord Sri Rama, hence the amsa (part) of Brahma is there in him. He is the devotee of Sri Rama hence he is an embodiment of Vishnu. Finally, he is said to be the Rudramsha Sambhootha - his birth is due to Lord Shiva's grace and he is the avathara of Shiva. Hence there is no exaggeration to say that Lord Hanuman is Kaliyuga Daiva and he certainly listens to the sufferings of all those who worship him with due rever and devotion. What Venkateshji has written is true in letter and spirit. I appreciate HIS efforts in highlighting the power of Hanuman Chalisa and made known to each and everyone, very much. Hanuman Chalisa is very powerful. If you read 51 times at one time, then you will definitely see the Lord Hanuman. My mother had an experience of this chalisa. Whenever you scary by the paranormal activity, just start reading loudly (NOT MUCH). Before starting the reading of Hanuman Chalisa, always say "Jai Siya Ram" (3 times) or Lord Ram Stuti which is only 4 lines of words (1 time). Experience by myself. |

Jai Shree Ramanjuneyam... thanks to u. up to today i didn't know this information about hanuman. when i read this blog i felt great to b devotee of lord hanuma. from today onward i read hanuman chalisa daily. without knowing my god is lord hanuman i started to pray him from my childhood, but now i come to y i was praying my Ramanjuneyam. Even i was in search of one god in many gods who can help me when i was in problem. I was in one big problem. on one night i was prayed lord hanuman to rescue me from that problem, on that same night when i was in sleep hanuman paper photo fell on me which i stick on the wall on my head side. that day i didn't come to know that hanuman want to help me. but when i succeeded in that problem then i come to know that hanuman solved my problem. now my problem is solved. i get married now i am happy. up to today i am devotee of ramanjuneya... thanks to u for helping me know more about lord Hanuman Jai Shree Ramanjuneyam... |

I have had really bad effects of blackmagic by my mum in law. My husband has left me and my 3 kids and his mum has got him a woman in he house for him. When I read 'The autobiography of a yogi' by Paramahansa Yogananda, devotion and faith came to me by the blessing of the Supreme. But though I got knowledge and trying a lot, I was not able to meditate and go ahead. So I felt very sad and had lost my body weight too. And once when I was reading a book by a Swami where Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, an incarnation of the Divine Moter Kali/Durga), she have blessed me through the book that, 'if anybody needs love, meditate on Kali, if renunciation, meditate on Shiva, if courage then meditate on Hanumanji'. Therefore from that time onwards, I am confident, being aware of my works, getting happier and being devoted to Amma/Devi Maa. Those people who think that he cannot do anything and he don't have any nowledge and energy, please be happy from today that Hanumanji will protect you. You don't need to do anything else just give all your problems, your worries, your love and faith on Hanumanji he will take care of you. My granny always told me that Hanumanji drives away evil and erases all troubles. Earlier, I didn't understand what the words meant. I just read it. Later, I came to know the song version and loved it. My friend gave me the song and since then I'm hooked to it. From my personal experience, whenever I feel down, scared, tense or restless, this is? a guaranteed way to help me out! After listening to Hanuman Chalisa or singing along, I feel fresh and rejuvenated. Sometimes due to my busy schedule, laziness and fatigue, I can't maintain the timings and rules to sing it. Hello Sunita, Lord Hanuman is called as Karuna Sagar. He forgives and forgets easily the sins of his devotees if the devotees surrender at his feet. Married men and women can chant Hanuman Chalisa with proper hygiene. The minimum that you can do is to take bath and chant Hanuman Chalisa. Chant it while waiting for a train or a bus, chant it while you are disturbed, chant it when you are confused and wait for miracles to happen. How soon miracles will happen depends on your karma - the good and bad deeds that you have done. Not losing the faith is important. Why you can even talk to Lord Hanuman and seek his mercy? And i got married a very good boy in a very good family. To chant this we need only Purity 1.Get up Early in the morning. 2.Take bath. 3.11 Flowers we should take (any) 4.East facing.(we should sit). 5.11 Time we have chant full hanuman chalisa. 6.Every time after finishing we should put a flower on hanumans photo. 7.Hanumans photo should facing of west 8.our wish how many days possible we can chant this. JAI HANUMANJI I have been a devotee for past 11 years I saw many miracles in my life after reading hanuman chalisa problems which seemed unsolvable got solved really felt like day dreaming all magic of hanumanji and the hanuman chalisa Besides i got good hikes and awards at office for my work I read it continously for 40 days(2 times a day) or 21 days (7 times a day) Continuity is important i felt but sometimes it becomes very very difficult to sustain though, yes definitely patience and true faith in hanumanji are the key there is no instant solution though My sincere gratitude and devotion to HANUMANJI |

Hello All.....like u all m also a HUGE fan of lord Hanumanji..n I just wana add 1 thing here dat its all about ur faith in him wic can bring change in u after reciting Hanuman Chalisa...u cant just start reciting it cos sum1 else got benefited by doin it n u after reciting for a week or so cant expect a result... and yes its said u recite Hanuman Chalisa after taking shower but u can ofcourse do it while travelling or in office...cos god is inside u....its bout ur devotion towards him... all the best |
