There is Always Sunshine

after the Long Dark Night

There is always sunshine after the long dark night. For some of us, being alive is a terror train and for others it’s a wonder ride. I heard someone say that the biggest battle that we fight in our life is with our own mind, which, most people end up losing. GOD must not be able to sleep well because for better or for worse we remember him. We have to understand and appreciate the bonds between hardship and blessings. I am a Rocky Balboa fan and in one of the series Rocky Balboa says these unforgettable lines to his young and enterprising son.

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place. And I don’t care how tough you are; it will beat you to your knees and keep you there if you let it. You me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward.”

This speech jolted me and slapped my mind from inside. I had this nasty habit of finding scapegoats and blaming someone else for my predicaments. It was very comforting and made me feel that I was not being perceived in bad light. That wasn’t true though.

When life seems to treat us bad we accumulate feelings of fear, angst and loss. It’s a natural reaction. I like cycling and I enjoy the challenges in the sport. A lotta times I have bruised myself seriously. Only if I had known about the accidents in advance, I may have controlled my flow and avoided the pain.  Now whenever a challenge comes my way I remain chilled. My exception is only in the matters of heart. My heart is my Achilles heel. Nevertheless, I have started moving from panic to peace in a short time. Life does not stop when it changes. The only thing about life is that it goes on.

I regularly present myself with choices and pick up the best one. I have learnt to stop wrestling with inevitable. Sometimes when you let go of things that you don’t really want, you open an ocean of opportunities and surprise yourselves. I shift my thinking and point of view. If you are too hung up on the challenge/problem you will miss the opportunity. Life is a bitch but the payoffs can be delightful for those who take risks. I believe that its good to be like a child and explore the world, learning from the screw-ups and understanding that bruises will come. Children keep exploring and that prepares them for the next challenge. My personal experience has been that most people when, they give up, are almost there.

Many of you may find it difficult to believe but the only way you will find whether I am trustworthy or not is by first trusting me and believing that after every high there is a low and vice versa.

“Be willing to be open and ready to receive because what you are asking for is also looking for you. Good or bad”
