Please Explain (Jyotish)

Greetings!

Over the years of writing here there everywhere, about Jyotish in silico, on paper, etc, often there arise questions in the minds of readers. This blog has been started on 2012-12-20 at 12:59 EST to address those.

In addition, interesting examples etc might be discussed here.

No readings requests please! For those please visit rohiniranjan.homestead.com

Comment Mr. Avinash, Exaltation is a special 'game changer'. Saturn is the dispositor for mars both in aquarius and capricorn. Of these, it gains relative dominance due to aquarius being its mool-trikona. Mars on the other hand gains relatively in capricorn. The resultant is therefore different hen the two planets are concerned. Other factors need to be recognized too such as awasthas, varga strength. An otherwise strong and functionally benefic mars would indicate more positive experiences than in another nativity with similar sign locations, naturally. All factors need to be considered or else astrology would become too limited to account for the biological variability observed in human beings.

Comment Hi Mr Ranjan, I keep reading your work and highly appreciate the depth of astro analysis you normally go into and knowledge you possess within. Was reading your article Remedies in Vedic Astrology and following pulled my attention. You write about mars in Saturn sign Aquarius: Mars is a fairly cruel influence and when it is present in the rising (1st house) in a sign that is ruled by Saturn, representing confinement, restraints, control, it is indicative of unhappiness If we just focus on Saturn as depositor then why this has different behavior when Mars in Capricorn? Is same planet right? Understand about exaltation but the behavior should NOT be so drastically different? Also you say Aquarius is air and fixed sign by nature and use the words like "The fire of mars is fanned by the airy element and its movement is restricted in the fixed sign. This increases the degree of discomfort." But we can also say that airy sign help acts as catalyst to intensify Mars energy and fixed sign help this go in controlled manner without unnecessary scattering under Saturnine guidance and achieve the results of the efforts put in? Or we are just trying to fit in the events and this person’s behavior? Would request your feedback/comments. Best Regards, Mars is a fairly cruel influence and when it is present in the rising (1st house) in a sign that is ruled by Saturn, representing confinement, restraints, control, it is indicative of unhappiness. Moreover, the sign is airy and fixed. The fire of mars is fanned by the airy element and its movement is restricted in the fixed sign. This increases the degree of discomfort. Such is not true when mars is in Capricorn, its sign of exaltation! The earth gives it a firm base to burn on steadily, while the movable nature of Capricorn allows room for some movement. The mental, airy environment of Aquarius is not easy for mars to cope, and indicates frustrations and abusive environments or one who grew up in environments where there was too much controlling going on to allow for healthy growth. The Chandra Mangala yoga, the combination of mars and moon falling in a saturnine sign in a woman's chart is often indicative of one who was controlled, while in a man's chart, it indicates one who can be controlling and the oppressor. A note of caution is wise to mention here for the benefit of the overzealous beginner: one swallow does not announce summer and one combination does not clinch the final diagnosis in astrology, or elsewhere! - See more at: http://www.boloji.com/index.cfm?md=Content&sd=Articles&ArticleID=1076#sthash.kuWPn0bg.dpuf
