(The
Tribune, New Delhi, April 29
After facing heat over cheergirls, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is
now under the scanner of union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss who
criticized the cricket body for allegedly promoting liquor through
surrogate advertisements at their cricket matches.)
Putar: The
Tribune headlines today said that the Health Minister is upset about the
promotion of liquor during the cricket matches.
Hari: Thats right, putar.
Putar: A Faridabad resident filed a case saying that a cricket team
should not be allowed to play under the name Royal Challengers as it
promoted the sale of Royal Challenge.
Hari: Thats true, putar.
Putar: But the Supreme Court dismissed that petition.
Hari: Thats true, putar.
Putar: Earlier the politicians were upset over American style
cheerleaders.
Hari: Thats true, putar but don't forget we later had our
Indian style cheerleaders as well.
Putar: Did the politicians object to the dress of the American style
cheergirls?
Hari: I guess so, putar.
Putar: Or was it because of the way they jumped up and down?
Hari: I dont know, putar.
Putar: But everyone was happy with our Indian style cheerleaders who
were more soberly dressed.
Hari: That's true, putar.
Putar: Tell me something papaji?
Hari: Bol, putar?
Putar: The cheergirls are supposed to encourage the teams, arent they?
