Little Girls....

 It's a hot summer afternoon
The little girls playing in the noon
blooming like pretty flowers on grass
their tiny heads together so crass

I wonder if it's the sun
as I see them run
that has lit their inside
with a bright light so wide
as they see nothing but the rainbow
shadowing all that we know
with a penchant for love
and smiling like a flying dove

Bother does not bother them
and discrimation does not sense them
As they move around
their swift feet in a merry go round
Happiness shines through
and my childhood speaks in a silent trough
