Reformation in the East

My experiences are giving me a feel of the century old Indian Independence struggle. Our freedom fighters fought for around 200 years against the exploitative colonial rule. But, they made a big blunder when the independence was achieved. They overthrew the British but could not overthrow the system. Our Parliament, administration, bureaucracy, judiciary, police and all other institutions remained unreformed. The Crown was no longer in control of us but the system they had established continued to rule the mind. The West through their intelligence is still capturing the minds of the East.

So, if the disempowered sections of the world really want to compete with those empowered, it can happen only by becoming self reliant rather than just copying the West.

There is a need for renaissance in the East. There is a need for reformation in the southern hemisphere.

The West will continue to dominate the world till the East realize their potential and act in original.

My short journey of understanding
Indian socio-political scenario

I am a part of the movement against corruption led by Team Anna. The Anna movement presented itself as the platform which can eliminate the corruption faced by every Indian on a day to day basis. Political class and the media allowed Anna movement to flourish as they thought it was a platform like the Congress of 1885 which A.O. Hume had floated to contain the rising anger within the people. But, as it happened in those times, a similar situation can be observed now too. The Anna movement may have failed in the eyes of media and its critics, but on the ground, it is actually spreading. The movement was initiated by elite and received support of the middle class but now it is reaching the grassroots and connecting with the downtrodden.

In my short journey, I came across many individuals doing outstanding work in their own spheres. In my perspective, in order to achieve real independence (i.e. being self reliant), all individuals thinking and working towards betterment of society have to get united to fight against the evil forces across the globe.
