What You Can Do About Inflammation
Dr. Chetan Chopra Bookmark and Share
Inflammation is a basic way the body reacts to injury or irritation. Chronic inflammation flies below the radar of your perception and may not cause any pain or symptoms. Chronic inflammation is a 'silent killer', it damages the vascular walls and is a factor in every single degenerative disease, including heart disease, Alzheimer's, diabetes, cancer, and obesity.

Fortunately, a great deal of inflammation is under our control. If you can control the 'fire within', you'll be well ahead of the game when it comes to extending your life as well as improving the quality of the years you have.

Once again, it all starts with food. Some of the superstars that you should include in your diet are:

* onions and leeks
* garlic
* leafy greens (E.g., spinach, chard, kale)
* tomatoes
* bell peppers
* cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower
* beans...all types
* nuts and seeds
* ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves
* parsley, rosemary, thyme, oregano, mint, tarragon. dill
* tea..all types
* red wine
* cocoa/chocolate
* flaxseed and flaxseed oil
