Passing Life in Stride
by Ahmed Tanhaa Bookmark and Share

Traveling the streets on his bare feet
The poor soul carries his load
Rain or shine in the sun's heat
He makes his runs on the road

His day begins by the early light
In the hope of earning his wage
By toiling all day testing his might
He pulls his little carriage

He continues his journey with each stride
Bearing the hardships of his life
Working hard with pride
And living a simple and honorable life

He struggles to survive each day
To earn a living through his trade
Pulling his load along the way
In the city's' busy parade

Weary and tired he rests at night
Dreaming of a better life
Just to wake up at dawn's light
To continue his relentless strife

In God's plans and grand scheme
Each of us play our assigned role
No matter how much and what we dream
It is he who is in control

It is what makes the world go around
Like the wheels of toiler's cart
It is our destiny so profound
That makes us play our part
