From Me to You

Ma every time you caress me
It feels so warm,
Your touch is like a shield
That protects me from every harm.

When you hold me close
In your loving embrace,
I feel I’m in a world
Of love, warmth and grace.

When you sing a song
A lilting melody,
To me it is sweeter
Than any lullaby.

When I place my head
In your lovely lap
I feel it is the safest place
On the world map.

As I rush into your arms
On the sands of the golden beach
I am certain there can be no pleasure
That is beyond my reach.

Whenever I am asked to close
My eyes in a silent prayer,
The only image that comes
Is of you my beautiful mother.

Beyond the boundaries of time and space
Is our love for each other,
Even if I’m not the best son
Surely you are the greatest mother.
