Closer to God?
by Michael Knott Bookmark and Share

Being high in the mountains, really does take one closer to God.  Is it the thinner air, the freezing temperatures, the space?  Or is it the manner in which Natures massive existence shows how insignificant we are amongst God’s wonderful creations? Or is it perhaps the peace and solitude of the mountains that allow us to re-connect with our inner voice, the voice of our Souls; or is that voice, the voice of God?

Perhaps Man’s curiosity and need for purpose becomes more apparent than ever in God’s mountains?

They say cities where meant to be lived in, while mountains and hills where meant to be walked on.  I disagree; give me God’s mountains and hills any day.  These stoic places have stripped back all the clutter and distractions of the false city, the mountains are pure and holy, like open air cathedrals which allow one to reconnect with the spiritual things that really matter.

Pictures where taken by both Chris Knott and Michael Knott. These scenes are of the rugged mountainous areas of Lesotho and South Africa.
