Nature bowed before Vidhata, “ Father! I am perplexed. You have chosen to organize me in inexplicable ways. This configuration, this layer by layer organization, this music, poetry and harmony, a curious and captivating mix of diversity and variations! This is maintained effortlessly, even though it is accompanied with a constant tendency to disintegrate and disorganize. It needs favorable ambience for growth, but adversity to evolve. A state of dynamic interaction and equilibrium within and between organisms and surroundings is a prerequisite for prosperity and growth. On the other hand adversity is stimulus for evolution. Possibilities of evolution emerge only when challenge presented by adversity is accepted by adaptation to the demands of changed environment. You have equipped me with a regime of strict regimen. But together with that, chance events and accidents are also prescribed. There may be occasional disasters. I am a mosaic of regulations and irregularities, accidental events and uncertainties, Father, bless me so that I may be capable of being a worthy bearer of your symphony."

Vidhata smiled, “ Darling! You have my blessings. I am overwhelmed by your wonderful magnificence, probabilities and indefinite creative potential. I cannot claim any conscious role in your emergence. I was just contemplating for creation, and you emerged as a consequence of the radiation of energy from my aura. Your specific distance and orientation from the sun in the solar system has enabled you to bear water in liquid state. Due to such coincidence the great march of life could be initiated and has been continuing. Being hailed as your father is a glorious and humbling experience for me. Organization and entropy, regularity together with irregularity and uncertainty, and accidental events have adorned you with mystery, attraction and ecstatic experience. Assurance of indefinite possibilities is intrinsic within you. Your beauty is entrancing. You have a capacity to force an organism to keep on striving to live even under most averse conditions and surroundings and enjoy it too. Your poet would say, “I do not want to die in this beautiful universe.”

I equip living organisms with four instincts; namely, hunger, sex, fear and sleep. These instincts would enable you to maintain yourself in the face of continuing stress created by entropy.

Hunger would compel organisms to obtain food from surroundings for maintenance, growth and development; an organism would be able to maintain continuity of its species after its death by the irresistible urge of sex. Sleep would assure control over degeneration of body and mind by forcing the organism to rest while fear would induce the organism to defend itself from the dangers lurking in the surroundings.

Vidhata intervened in the festival of nature. He established emotions and passion in the heart of man and rationality and logic in his mind. Man received six impulses in addition to the four instincts common to all the organisms. They are greed, disease, affection, anger, pride and malevolence. Heart tempts man to dream while the mind equips him with reason and conscience.

Man emerged as the only organism that changes his environment in a preplanned and controlled manner. Other organisms too change their environment, but they have no control over the manner, extent or direction of the change caused by them. Man needs to understand that he is not independent of the other constituents of the biosphere; his existence is inextricably interwoven with other constituents of the ecosystem. He has to be constantly aware that negligence of ecological conscience would be disastrous not only for him but for the entire biosphere.

Vidhata has since been engaged, with the detachment and objectivity of a scientist in carrying out experiments to decipher the astonishingly limitless possibilities of life; which is driven by the equations of organization- disintegration, consistency- inconsistency, privilege and adversity, regularity and chance events. He has unrestrained curiosity, enquiry and compassion. Vidhata has organized the universe as a laboratory, in order to bring out the potential of life. He has no preference for any particular result He does not indulge in influencing the outcome of the experiments. He observes, how life manifests itself in the continuously changing scenario of opportunities and challenges. He has chosen each individual for a unique experiment. Each individual is unique. He chooses such individuals who command his trust for his complex and trying experiments. By blessing them with complexities and adversities, he isolates them from all others. They become Vidhata’s own persons.

Everybody is not blessed with experiencing the pains and joy of living, ironies, paradoxes and the indefinite expanse of life to the same extent. This is why, all of us are not fortunate enough to realise the compassion of Vidhata to the same extent. Vidhata established the authority of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh in man and since then He has been observing, what man does with life.

It is true that as one watched life in its curious crucible of pain and pleasure, one could not wear over one’s face a mask of glass, nor keep the sulphurous fumes from troubling the brain, and making the imagination turbid with monstrous fancies and misshapen dreams.
