Cold wave continues in Kashmir, Dal Lake freezes
Srinagar, Dec 27 (IANS)
Cold wave conditions continued unabated across the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region Tuesday.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar Tuesday was minus 4.7 degrees Celsius. It was minus 7.6 degrees in south Kashmir's Pahalgam hill station and minus 8.4 degrees in north Kashmir's Gulmarg ski resort.

Most of the lakes and water bodies in the valley, including the famous Dal Lake were frozen at the margins Tuesday monring.

Ladakh's capital Leh was again the coldest in Jammu and Kashmir with the minimum temperature being minus 14.4 degrees. Kargil town in Ladakh recorded a minimum of minus 12.8 degrees.

The weather office has said that there would be no respite from the present cold wave conditions for another four days.
