God Vs Wisdom

Most of us, pray to God
To ensure a life bereft of disease
Wouldn't you be better off?
With acceptance that this body
Needs a ticket to board the plane called Death?

Most of us, pray to God
For money,
Wouldn't you be better off?
With acceptance that money can't buy you everything
And whatever comes, goes?

Most of us, pray to God
For a great and illustrious future
Wouldn't you be better off?
With acceptance that past is a memory; future is an extrapolation
And what is true, is really only the present?

Most of us, pray to God
For a visa to settle down in the West
Wouldn't you be better off?
With acceptance that if you are comfortable with yourself,
What does it matter where you live?

Most of us, pray to God
Asking for faith in God!
Wouldn't you be better off?
Believing all that you see, hear and feel are transitory and illusory
What is true, is only the power of the NOW?

Really, does one need the concept of God?
"Not I" said the little red hen.
Either that, or I am God!
Choice is yours
Ho-hum!
