  When we be in love
You be the rock,
I'll be the ocean,
You be the anchor,
I'll be the motion.

When we come together
You be the tangible,
You the real,
I the abstract,
I the ethereal.

You were there always...
unchanging, immovable, unwavering,
the Rock.
Your unflinching resolve
drew me towards, and then again backwards.
I, the ocean with her various moods -
the surge of my passion, my recession,
inexplicable.
I drench you, leave you parched as I please.
When I recede, I even wash away
the sand around your feet.

You are here
to stay. I remain undecided,
or a prisoner of circumstance.
As I am the ocean with her changing moods
and there are reasons to regress.

I never saw
The billion rocks on my
thousand shores.

I wander away from it all,
far from the deadening threads of bonding,
but through the howling silence of the emptiness,
I hear the call of the winds
that once wrapped their sails around your
bow.

My rock awaits,
I return with majesty,
I return in splendor.
I roar, I call as I reach out to you.
Slowly I weaken as I confront your steady resolve,
Calmly, I wrap myself around your feet,
at peace for a while.

Only to return
since I am the ocean with her various
moods,
and you are the rock.

You are there,
caught in a timeless epoch,
immovable.
But I am the prisoner, who shall return to you
time after time.

And when we be in love
You be the relic,
I be the air,
You the worshipped,
I the prayer.

And if we come together
You be the body,
I be the soul,
You be the seeker,
I the goal.
