New Millennium... Big Deal

  It's been a long time...
Since I opened out my heart to you...
This poem comes with a special message,
To tell you...
How much I love you!

This poem comes to you...
You - the woman I treasure
The woman,
knowing whom is an immense pleasure!

The first time I met you
I'll share a special bond with you, I never knew!
I consider myself one of the luckiest few.
And all this...all this is because of you...
The woman, whom, earlier I hardly knew!

I wish you a very happy wedding anniversary
I know it's not necessary!
You know, never I mention though...
How much I love you
And how much I treasure you!

I can hardly recollect those days,
When I used to be alone...
Searching for someone
who would belong to me
And who would love me...
I just know... When I got to know you
I could see a loyal partner in you!

Though our's may be an arranged marriage
Sharing my life with you,
Has been wonderful...
To the best of my knowledge!

We may have had our own conflicts
And our own fights.
But... Always have we stood together
And will be so...for ever!

Past 30 years you have stood by me
Supporting and encouraging me!
Though I may have never mentioned in words
I appreciate your support beyond words.

May it be a sunrise or a sunset...
You have shared it with me
With tears, my eyes get wet
When I assemble together...
All the love you showered on me.
Your love... In every form and in every way
Has never been short to make a perfect day.

You have loved me selflessly
throughout your life...
When I replay my life again,
you turn out to be more than a wife!!
You were like a mother
When gloomy was the weather!
When there were storms in my life
You stood by me like a perfect wife!

You were like a friend,
When I was afraid...
Afraid to go ahead in life
When I was scared of life's surprise!
You held my hand and walked with me
Inspite of knowing my drawbacks,
You never underestimated me.

You were like a sister to me
Always bringing out the talents hidden in me!
Making me realize that one day I will be...
what I want to be!
And today!
Today...whatever I am....
I am only because of your trust in me!

You have portrayed multiple roles in my life...
You've been a perfect mother
( even to my kids ),
Apart from being a perfect wife!
And today....
Today I say....
"knowing you has been
an immense pleasure...
You are the woman...
The woman I treasure!

On this special day...
I, in my own way...
Thank you...
Thank you for all that you have done for me
Knowing you and having you around...
Is the best thing that ever
would have happened to me!
