Breaking the Rules

Happy, charming and receptive is she,
Walking onto the road of this endless life,
She is talented, she is creative.
She is different.
Strangers and relatives nudge,
Poke and wink when she passes.
They laugh at her silently,
Make fun of her quietly,
But,
Abuse her openly.
She dresses charmingly,
With dupatta draped gracefully across her breasts,
But, still people run away from her,
Advice others to stay away from her.
She is made to feel isolated,
By her so- very near ones.
She has a family of her own,
Duties and responsibilities,
Which she understands so very clearly.
But,
Still her life is so very miserable,
As she is considered a "blot" on the society.
A mark which needs to be disposed of as soon as possible..
for the success of the society.
She is made to realize,
That her "life will never bed of roses"
Because,
Of the so-called society rule,
Which she has broken.
She'll continue to be cursed, because,
Of the unfulfilled responsibilities and promises,
Which she left long time back
Something, which takes birth immediately,
When a female child is born.
She'll never be forgiven, because,
Of the mistake and the crime,
Which she has committed.
A crime, which is beyond any solution morally,
A crime of being an "addict",
Thus, she stands wearing a quite smile on her face,
Passing through the dark tunnel of this life,
Wherein, she has become popular.
As her recognition clearly stands to be,
"An alcohol addict woman."
