The Love of God within me covers each and every wound
Wounds we left each other,
Oil and wine poured over,
Are now with our Lord, forever.
Once painful memories, each bearing bitter resentment,
Now bear compassion, love and grace.
The Love of God within me, transcending time and space.
Blood, thicker than water, so too thicker than time and space,
Reveals my love for you dear Papa
As I thank God for His mercy
And touch your still warm face.
Thank you Papa ji, for all your love,
Your devotion and your loyalty,
Blessed in being your child, your daughter
Treasuring like pearls your praises, though few and far between.
Your courage and integrity,
The sacrifices you made for your family,
So freely for us all,
This work of Love dear Papa, heavenly Father will not overlook,
Never unjust, each act of your love He will recall.
Father God, He sees me as gold
And I know you did too, you said.
And I'll pray I'll sleep, just as you asked
For I know God gives sleep to His beloved.
The flowers you called my handwriting,
May they have blossomed in your heart dear Papa,
For you to have known our Lord Jesus more closely,
Before from this earth you did depart.
"No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15.verse 13)
In loving tribute to my father, Sadiq Masih, who passed away peacefully on Friday, 26th October 2007. I am eternally grateful for my father. I thank him for the way he laid down his life for his family. I thank him with all my heart for laying down his life for my brother Shamaoon, whom he loved and cared for so dearly. Shamaoon had many learning difficulties and passed away just weeks before my father aged 46 years. Shamaoon, together with his smile, is to be remembered for his gentleness and humility. My father remained his faithful friend even in death. Their story is one to tell, if it ever could be told.
