This evening the park wears
a strange look
engulfed in eerie silence!
Birds appear returning
crestfallen, dead
tired of looking for their nests
way back home
drowned in the smoggy sea.
Their soaring wings swing though
yet unflapped
cold-caught numbed,
totally tangled
in the weeds of the chilly wave
sweeping the trees, erect
with no leaves,
nor any nestling branches.

Swooping down with a strive
they perch at ease
on the boundary wall,
raised around the dingy enclosure,
waiting with patience
for the foggy times
to vanish into nowhere zone.
Shivering in cluttering cold,
they eat and digest the darkness
of the whole night,
wallowing in the warmth
of their heart and soul,
emanating from the bright rays
of hope and future
for the eternal flight into the sky
