Occam's Razor
by Suzanne Nielsen
Bookmark and Share
My son told me yesterday he has forty-five days of sobriety.
I gave him my Sopranos calendar to check off the days
hoping the menacing look in Tony's eye
might scare him into forty-six.

I said an easier way to remember your dry date
is by the day of the month,
in your case the 27th.
He said what about leap year.
I said what about February in general,
or the months there are 31 days?

Remember to keep it simple stupid
KISS the ground you walk on each and every morning
you wake up, then hold your tongue for words cut like a razor
when you're looking for a solution beyond simplicity.
