My Ruin

It was in a month of spring
The day was dying in a crimson glow
When I saw in your eyes, my ruin.
My day-to-day life was flowing
In its usual flow
Among a lot of people
Working and playing
When suddenly I saw in your eyes, my ruin.
The mango grove was in blooms
Its flowers were shedding...
In the air, their familiar scent was floating
Among its flowering foliage
The bees were flying
And the spring was breathing
Amidst all these
I saw  in your eyes, my ruin.

Translation of the love song - Praharshesher aloy ranga sedin chaitramas - by Rabindranath Tagore. The original is at http://www.rabindra-rachanabali.nltr.org/node/6463.
