Hey, Moon! What you lookin' at? Ain't nothing you haven't seen already, ain't that right?
You sitting up there so big and round and white just grinnin' like everything's all right?
Well, maybe it is and maybe it ain't and I guess it doesn't matter to you. . .
But I read you might be a piece of this planet.
That long ago you were ripped loose by some near-miss or glancing cosmic blow.
So I guess maybe you know all about losing things.
Losing your home. Losing your friends. Losing everything you knew.
Maybe that's why I like you so much.
You've been through so much but you never flinch.
I can tell you've suffered too. You've seen it all haven't you?
The rise and fall of countless creations great and small.
Furry, feathery, scaly, hairy, boned or boneless, quick or slow, animal, mineral or vegetable.
The rise and fall of civilizations.
Known and unknown.
Intro, story line, ending.
Again and again and again.
But don't be sad.
It's a beautiful night, the stars and the Moon are shining bright . . .
Have a beautiful night Moon.
