The Path To Easy Living
by Chandi Charan Ghosh
Bookmark and Share
You personify how life should be lived
You are a plaything
Bound to the wheels of fire
A captive in the greenhouse of broken dreams
Hard tribulations, drought and fire,
Toy with your cherished hopes.

Sun sent down fire this year
The soil has held no promise
But doom and destruction for them
Who promised to live meaningfully
Holding on to their rhythms of humble living.

Who shall deliver them?
Who shall rouse them again
To their eternal fancies?
Who professes to be the messiah yonder?
His truckload of charity
Trampling the rough village path defiantly
His red Mercedes proclaiming loud
Excesses of tainted glories.

He shall deliver them
He shall lead them to their dream destination
Unqualified submission they will commit in return
Their path will be easy with green pastures.

But who shall show them the quicksand ahead?
