It came to me, unsuspected unquestioned, unchecked unbridled, untamed and unsettled an unaware me.
A breeze that felt so fresh A promise of new A dream undreamt before A revelation, almost divine.
Caught me so suddenly and raised me to dizzying heights; The transports of ecstasy, The trappings of love.
Bewitched, beguiled, befooled I was as faith was breached. Thence rose the doubt.
Doubt, oh dearest ! The doubt, so safe; a friend more faithful than infidel faith.
As appearances deceive and words conceal, I stand in suspicion, stanching blood from a smitten essence, dressing a wounded pride.
