My Two Left Feet

Every time when my friends
Trouped out for some fun
On the dance floor I could not
All because of my two left feet
They just refused to synchronise
I could not swirl or twirl to the
Music or to the drummers beat

Then came the school leaving ball
Held in the city's snazziest dance hall
The authorities made it very clear
That I had to make an appearance
And for me not to feel out of place
Dad insisted that I should buy
A pair of dainty dancing shoes

I did protest but not very loudly
When I saw how great they looked
Wearing  such a stylish  pair was
A special treat so I quietly agreed
But on entering the grand hall
I was conscious of only one thing
The dainty shoes on my two left feet

My fellow class-mates cheered me
This was the first time I was seen
In a pair of dancing shoes despite
My two left feet - Soon my face began
To match the colour of my shoes
It took on a shade close to tomato red
Truly flustered I upped and ran home
With my dancing shoes and two left feet intact
