tyrannical claws
you await death
as you are roasted
on the grill of torture
smoked dignity spiraling
towards callous gods
humanity beggared
by despotic vagaries
the shroud of oppression
you transform
into a pennant proud
the smoldering pyre
of your aspirations
glows eternal
to light passages
of darkened times
for generations unborn
