Betrayal

It came not as a surprise,
it was anticipated.
Life is such that betrayal
takes place,
as often as it can be.
More or less,
the frequency is same
and when it is from you,
I don't want to sit patiently
and assimilate.

A past submerged in
struggle and hardship
you forgot expediently!
Unfathomable that disgust and
unbelievable that deceit
Merciless or ruthless
such kind of betrayals
shatters the endurance and
slaughters the inner alerts.

Time and again, I remember
the way you stood in front of me
persistently to take away
anything offered.
I expected atleast
an assurance in your mind
that you are indebted
a lifetime indeed.

There is no anger in me
but sympathy in abundance
I count on fundamentals
where there is no escape
for your wrecked mind
and its conspired themes
It is strange at the end
you walked away when
time arrived to repay,
in an ungrateful way
offering the worst betrayal.
