Separation

Now that time separates us
You ponder what I do
I pray to add another hour
To know my love for you.

Now that you are far away
On paths that do not turn
I wonder what I meant to you
Though time does not return

But when I crumble down spent
As waste leaf mix with earth
Maybe then you’ll stop to brood
To know my real worth.

Maybe your tears will wash my faults
But I’d be gone you see
Then you’ll know what inside me burnt
And what you meant to me.

And when I like an Angel drift
Your thoughts will brew my cup
With tears that fill my cup of woes
But still I’ll cheer you up

And when your wishes float to me
In all heavens above,
I will smile and ask of you
“Did you value my love?”

Like a morning dream is gone
To shine like a star
My heart will feel the pain of you
Of you, being so far

Then when I break all ties loose
And freely fly from all
Maybe you could then decide
To remember me or forget it all !

Poem Comment Thank you for your words of appreciation Rupradha. It heartens me to know that there are people / poets who still value rhyme and rhythm! though the world of poetry has been flooded with prose. Thank you once again.
