I am now put in a home for orphans,
although I am not one
I am sent to school but miss the one I went to
When in class I stare at the board but can’t write
Not that I cannot write in my waking hours
I hear mother call my name, I look around and can’t find her.

All call me a dreamer
The way I stare blank faced in search of her
I know the truth of her plight but refuse to accept he took her life
I was starry eyed while she was around
And now all I know I dream for revenge.
A dreamer I am
A dream to do to my father what he did to my mother
Only I know because I saw
I wait to grow up and wait to be a police officer
With law in my hand I will see him feel pain
he inflicted on my mother
At that time
Preetam’s dream will be complete.
