  My love became a drooping rose
Ever since it lost your care,
Like the flakes of snow it froze
As it knew you weren’t there.

My love became a drooping rose
And made me bleed, you see,
When two different ways our fate chose
And destiny parted you from me.

My love became a drooping rose
When you left me all alone,
The chapter of love had to close
And it became a mourning bygone!
