  Here, women are grass
Soft, keeping the feet supple
Though trampled upon
Keep their cool.
Here, women are trees
With shade, fruit, root,
Shelter above head
To keep warm firewood.
Here, women are rivers
Manna on parched lips,
Showing lifeways,
Cleansing all sins of skin.
Here, women are oceans
Receiving, absorbing, absolving,
Identity intact, buoyancy
Elevating drooping spirits.
Here, women are clouds
Spreading showers on hills and dales
Pines and meadows
Fear and favour unknown.
Here, women are stars
Lighting dark alleys
Eyes of sailors at night
Fading as dawn draws by.
Here, women are Mother Earth
Patiently bearing, lovingly caring
Offers unlimited, demands never in sight
