The Eve of the Royal Wedding

It takes a royal wedding to reveal
what is within us, all over the world;
British royalty retains its seal
in commonwealth; America of old

beats rapturous in myth and fantasy;
royal pomp and pageantry a fairy tale
makes real to the global community;
Diana’s William and his beautiful

Kate assume planetary, nay beyond,
to watchers in the wider universe,
appeal, to show love is royalty’s bond;
that kingship is the rule of love in hearts.

So let this wedding day be celebrated
in all ecstasy that even here arises
the day before, even now as contemplated,
the heaven to the world life polarises.

Poem Comment I was keen for this wedding for the sake of Princess Diana, not for British monarchy. May the couple 'live happily thereafter.' A nice composition.
