To Palestine

  A thousand mutilated heavens;
The lost glory of ages divine,
The remnants of Time's crumpled tears-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
The stairway to heaven desecrated, destroyed
Dreams buried alive, subtle, pristine;
A million souls and a single drop of blood-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
A single smile in a thousand tears;
A solitary laugh in a thousand shrieks,
The sun never rises, as if to shine-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
From nowhere to nowhere, your destiny lies,
Perhaps, somewhere in paradise,
The kingdom is yours, the future is thine-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
From here to eternity, in a single moment,
The whole world lies like a grain of sand,
For You, by Hope, Space and Time align-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
Two drops, one each on each of the cheeks,
Of Blood or Tears, no way to tell;
The tears are yours, the Sorrow is mine-
Try not to cry, Children of Palestine.
