Brutality

It all stems from heredity
Or perhaps environment
Psychologists may argue
On the impact of each, but
This incident is revealing
Little Binny saw his Dad
Thrashing his dear Mother
Little Binny cringed in fear
But it probably registered
Somewhere in his mind
That it was acceptable
For a man to strike his wife

Some years later, newsmen
Reported a gruesome crime
A young man in a fit of rage
Had battered his wife leaving
Her maimed and disturbed
For life - he was absconding
His name - Binoy aka Binny
At the home for the Aged
A very frail old lady listened
To the evening news in shock
She -Binny's abandoned mother
