An Ailing Mother Earth

  Where the hills are heavens
The plants are gardens
All Animals are pets
Live to love, love to live tens.
Where the moon peeps
Naked rivers romp n murmur
The stars smile shyly
Sing to live, live to sing freely.
That lap of mother earth
The cradle for the crores
Alas! Now soaked with cough
Laden with crutches.
How long the mother can endure
The kicks and the fists
Of the … challenged children
Live to mar n mar the mother.
Mother nurturing ailing children
Choked with foul yawns
Seated amidst plastic rubbish
Trembling with nuclear crackers.
The mother weeping bitterly within
Poor readers of heart n mind
We dance and fall like the spastic
With the sun and the moon.
