Difference Between being Correct and Being Good
by Sharbaaniranjan Kundu
Bookmark and Share
Throughout my life I have been correct.
But mistakenly I always thought I was good.
After lot of sufferings,
when I ruminated on the balance sheet of my life,
I suffered excruciating mental pain,
and bit by bit I came to realize
that being correct does not equate with being good.

Behind being correct lies fear.
Fear of falling,
fear of falling short of expectations.
Fear of loosing out
in the competitive world.

Being good is being magnanimous,
large hearted, compassionate,
having confidence in the self,
in the system of things,
poetic justice,
never fearing,
and knowing everything has a meaning,
and what you see is transitory.

All these do not come cheap.
They come with a lot of sufferings.
Then you see the glow of truth.
And you know the difference
between being correct and being good.
