Wish You Were Here

Life without you is like a desert,
No flowers to blossom,
No greenery, no colours,
No 'life' in this so-called life.

Life without you is like a funeral,
Only mourning, sheer darkness,
Only tears and deep sighs,
No light in this gloomy life.

Life without you is a disaster,
No reason to be happy,
No season to rejoice,
Only loneliness and despair.

Wish you were here
And I could party on my post graduation,
Celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve,
For what are they without you?

Wish you were here
And I could believe I am beautiful,
Through your eyes which stare at me
And make me feel wanted and loved.

Wish you were here
And I could see your profound eyes,
My heart would find some solace
Just by seeing you around me.

Wish you were here
And I could celebrate life with you
Every second of life would turn grand
And I would be so over the moon.

Wish you were here
And I could be relieved out of this misery,
Coz life without you is a suffering,
A suffering that never ends.

Poem Comment Rupa dear,
What a smooth flow of emotions like a rivulet snaking around some orchard.
Keep it up and I take the liberty of wishing that i was there in flesh-and-blood, basking in your poetry!!!

Poem Comment Ah haa, Rupraadhaa, let me fantasize, I am that "you"! That way absorption of the poem is so much more easy! I find women write more romantic poems than men! Theirs' is more passionate, I have observed. Kudos!

Poem Comment Hello Birahini, your love is so intense that 'he' is bound to be around you, and take you for a stroll on the sands of the shore on a fullmoon night when hearts move up and down with excitement in rhythms with the tides...
