Born in Aligarh (UP) and educated in Delhi and Bangalore, Ravi Pipal is presently with Indian Railways as a member of Indian Railways Personnel Service - a service of Indian Admin Service (allied). To his credit are Hindi collections of poetry: Sipi Moti Bhari, Pankhuriyan Gulab Ki, Os Ki Bundein, Sunehri Dhoop Ki Chhaon Tale,Ehsaas, Meri 101 kavtayen and collection of satires: Miss Rishwat, Tihar club and Bald is beautiful,Mera Bharat Mahaan, Mere 51 vyang. He has been awarded millennium award for the works in Hindi.
