Schooled in letter-writing, BS Murthy, born 27 Aug 1948, before setting out to master ‘novel craft’ for endeavouring at ‘fictional art’, graduated into articulating his managerial ideas and indemnity precepts in a score of published articles. Beginning with Benign Flame, he fashioned two more ‘plot and character’ driven novels, Jewel-less Crown and Crossing the Mirage, before switching over to the narrative non-fiction with Puppets of Faith: theory of communal strife. After versifying the Sanskrit epics, Vyasa’s Bhagvad-Gita, sans one-hundred-and-ten interpolations, into Treatise of Self-help and Valmiki’s Sundara Kãnda into Hanuman’s Odyssey and shaping two stage plays, Slighted Souls and Men at work on Women at work, he returned to the fictional stage with Glaring Shadow in the-stream-of-consciousness mode and Prey on the Prowl, a crime novel. Being back onto the stage, he wrote Castle of Despair and a radio play A love on hold.
Besides ten articles on ‘literary aspects’ to Triveni, he contributed ‘Addendum to Evolution: Origins of the World by Eastern Speculative Philosophy’ to The Examined Life On-Line Philosophy Journal, Vol. 05 Issue 18.
