Just Because I Can

Would you rather me weaving an old wives tale?
Just because I can!
Would it surprise you if I turned out stale?
Just because I can.
 
Would you be happy to stand by me in shame?
Just because I can.
Would it be easier for you to uphold your fame?
Just because I can!
 
Would you be able to put on a brave face?
Just because I can.
Would it be your downfall to agree to a truce?
Just because I can.
 
Would you dare say I cannot change?
Just because I can!
Would it be too hard to escape without damage?
Just because I can.
 
Would you be shocked if you saw a new phase?
Just because I can.
Would it bother you if I now cut the chase?
Just because I can!
 
Would you be glad that you wouldn’t have to give?
Just because I can.
Would it burn your soul that I cannot forgive?
Just because I can!
