Street Light

street light.jpg

The street light
Looks at me
Eye to eye
And asks:
Is your mind
Brighter than me?

Of course not
I say.

You do your
Duty diligently
Silently, not a
Word of grudge
Not a look of
Dissent, I see.

And me?

I huff and puff
At every duty
Given to me.

How can my
Mind surpass
The supreme
Intelligence,
The pristine
Brightness
Of thee?

Comment Street light guides all by its brightness, and so also your wit, Aparna, in guiding the stream of love to meander each heart!!
