The unfolding of life
Dissolves our illusions
Bursts the bubbles of ignorance,
Arrogance, vanity, and Beautiful dreams,
And strengthens our mind too.
Teaches lessons
Lessens optimism
But adds to our wisdom;
We start life in youth
Full of enthusiasm and optimism;
The course of life
With its roughness and toughness,
Makes us realize “The path is not smooth”.
Unexpected happenings
Bringing joys and sorrows
Success and failure
Make us pragmatic;
We start as pupils of life
Turn out to be “teachers”
With our experiences
And are tempted to preach
Unasked;
Even though the sum total
And summary of life informs,
“Life lived with near and dear
In all shades of life
Is the most fulfilling.”
We are carried away
And live as individuals more
Than a family together;
The unfolding of life
Is a counselor
and makes us
Informed, insightful
And see things
As a seer
