Please Don't Go Again

You are leaving,

And I’m grieving;

Now what will I do

Nine months without you?

With you, I had fun—

Enjoyed sand, sea and sun;

Some days were hazy,

And you made me lazy.

I would perspire,

And often retire

To a cool spot—

You were hot.

With you around,

I sometimes found

I couldn’t sleep—

I’d count sheep.

Despite my complain,

Please don’t go again;

Stay with me all year;

I’ll surf and cheer.

You keep me cozy,

And make life rosy;

Now I dread

What lies ahead.

Without your heat,

I face snow and sleet;

Winter is a bummer;

I’ll miss you, summer.
