Anniversary

You know me,
Hippy and long-haired

Can't find my-self or you
In a Hallmark Card-
So rare

Rare- I- this
And this- this dare
Of us

That drove snowbound
To Mountains trying on the
Skis of marriage

Heavy and led footed, anchored
Down to glide baby-
Babies- crying
Into nights which blurred
With days

No rescues until a two-
Seater carriage
Popped a wheel

Down in transit
Still sized
Into a shoebox house-

Still-
Cutting out the paper of it-

Little hands tapered
The walls
Where Christmas cards
Gained access
As portraits to hang

Nights of despair
To blanket one heaven
A snip, snip of folded paper

Snowflakes of imagination
Stretch over our windows now-

A diorama-
Now we jump into oceans
Of a project
Lifting the lid of it
For a grade

A kiss yesterday over-
There and here
Today ' a smack of this
Rain
On tin roofs running
Down Aluminum drains

Pooling into the diamond
Of our lawn
