Longing For You

It seems so long ago
As the lonely years go by
I wonder if you know
The sadness in my eyes.

I waited for the day
To hold your hand in mine
I clasped my hands and prayed
Our love again would shine.

I longed to see your face
Your funny little smile
I yearned for your embrace
And to love you for all time.

There's never been a day
I forgot to speak your name
But It falls to me to say;
That I'm finished with this game.
