Gone

clacton-on-sea.jpg

I hold the sea in my eyes.

Capricious waves wash ashore
and brush a yawning cavern.
The bitter brine bites my tongue.

Only tear stains survive now;
like seaweed, jettisoned
by an impatient visitor.

The tide has come and gone.

Just like you.
