Theme: Life

Wildlife Films

Who would have thought the platitudes of nature
could be so film-worthy, such compulsive viewing.
Is it the seriousness of approach, the day to day
concerns that totally preoccupy the members
of each species, precluding transcendence, that
consoles us? As if to say, we can so continue?

How the wide angle view, the telephoto lens,
expounds a world that nicely fits the theory;
the magnificent expanse of sky and terrain
as large and limpid as the animal eye that views;
that take turns to register each its limit
set outside the scope of a life beyond this.

A life beyond this: the thought doesn't occur
in the flat screen work of a camera.
