It makes me cry as well
yet, I love to see you weep!
To see those shiny tear drops
fall from your eyes
and vanish into the soil.

A thief this earth must then be
to make you cry
and then to steal
the tears from your eyes.

A series of Past tense – poems from 1972 – 1986
