Let Me Be Serene

Let me drink deep at the ocean of sorrow.
It suits me.
Is only sweetness likable?
Bitterness has its own taste.
Wine is bitter but many drink.
So is sedating sorrow.
An overdose of it would dizzy me.
I want to forget the bright and dull.

Let me not smile

I is more dear to me than smile.
Let me not smile.
Smile allures me,
Makes me forget myself.

Smile is a designing woman,
Brings a person to the edge of well,
Catching unaware, pushes down,
All smiles and sniffles wipe out.

Let me be serene, as deep as ocean.
Let me be grave as wintry gray haze,
So as to get elevated as an ascetic,
So as to become self-content as a happy man.
