Theme: Dilemma

Silence

You being silent for so long
Is terribly vexing to me and my
Meditative mind and soul.
Shocked to see my tears roll down
And my heart impatiently mourns.
Tell me how do I console?

My apparent dissonance
With you is that you can’t
Understand the fact:
Life is so sweet but short-lived
Before it perishes one should act.

You can remain patient
Tied to your own bond.
What’s the use of your late response
When I will be no more and gone?

Silence has added a strain
of melancholy and pessimism
It has also blurred
My goals and vision.
Is this change in my life real
Or some kind of delusion?

Sometimes I feel promiscuous
Self-deluded and fickle-minded
These are not my traits,
But after my emotional
Entangling with you
Look, where I have landed.

Your few words of comfort
Will set me free from
All Unwanted apprehension
And will end all my quarrels within.
Satiated and contented, I’ll get into
My cozy shell to find my cool therein.

Comment The inner turmoil and dilemma, and the final yearning for a comforting response, have all been very well expressed through the sounds of silence. Thanks for sharing this profound, well written poem, Mohini.

Comment Nice poem.. find some excepts in support....
Time may pass soon
Sun may rise in afternoon
It will be at peak and its zenith
So we cherish and live as long as breathe

It is nice to acknowledge
And express nicely on page
What your inner conscious permits
Heart mind should be kept open to greet..... you can have full poem in response if desired
