Darkness to Light

The kartik amavasya,
The darkest night of year
Brings Deepawali -
The festival of lights...

An opportunity for dark forces
Black magic and occult rituals
To alcoholism and gambling
For those who live in darkness...

But the essence of the festival is
Tamso ma jyotir gamaya -
Lead us from darkness to light
The eternal and everlasting
Jnana - the knowledge and wisdom
For our internal hope and bliss.
